I am captivated by my male subjects from the familial space—both specifically and as universal embodiments of allure. The question I wrestle with is: What gives them their unique magnetism? And how can I amplify their sensuousness, masculinity, or that subtle provocation that adds a dynamic layer of mystery? In constructing the hyper-real world of COUTUREBOY or my portrait work, my visual choices in color, composition, attitude, and style are deliberate but not so fixed that moments of spontaneity cannot add magic to my collaborative image-making process.

The body is central—both in its interiority and exteriority—because it is the location of cultural and political assault in our visual culture. This positionality becomes an act of refusal, a form of fugitivity that rejects what the dominant gaze demands. I aim to isolate specific frequencies within the sitter, amplifying their character to create something elegant, chic, and beyond mere sexuality.

For my work, I am not interested in images that serve to end arousal or reach a final point. Instead, I seek a sensuousness imbued with mystery—something crafted with love that is evocative, tantalizing, and full of endless erotic possibilities that leave room for a deeper engagement with the viewer that transcends the overtly sexual.
